On Broadway, Fred was part of the American cast of The Ferryman (directed by Sam Mendes), played the Wizard in Wicked (twice), and appeared in Tuck Everlasting, The Last Ship, Sister Act, La Cage aux Folles, Young Frankenstein, The Producers (in NYC and London) and the Sound of Music. He also appeared in New York in Fanny (Encores!) and Happiness (Lincoln Center), and premiered The 2nd Mrs. Wilson at the Long Wharf Theater.
Applegate’s national tours include: Anything Goes, The Producers, and Beauty and the Beast.
